Strike Plates

A strike plate is one of the most important and most overlooked pieces of hardware on any door. It is the metal plate installed into the door frame where the latch bolt or deadbolt seats when the door is fully closed. Without a properly fitted strike plate, your door latch has nothing solid to engage with, and the frame itself takes all the stress of daily use.

All strike plates at Inside Out Hardware are made by Designers Impressions and come in four finishes: polished chrome, matte black, satin nickel, and oil rubbed bronze. These finishes match across our full door hardware line, so coordinating your strike plate with your door knob, door lever, and other accessories is straightforward.

Our extended lip strike plates are the most security-focused option in this category. The extended lip is a longer tab that protrudes further into the door frame compared to a standard strike plate. This added length distributes the force of a closing latch over a larger area of the frame, improving both alignment and resistance to wear. They are available in five sizes to fit a wide range of residential door frames and latch configurations.
